Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Julie Redmond aka The Design Diva, in her new base of operations- her business is growing and it was time to expand the Inspiration Studio! She was bursting out of her space at Shab Row in Downtown Frederick- so it’s on to Industry Lane, where she has much more room to store her massive inventory, and a showroom to meet with clients and help them create amazing decor for their wedding day. Julie hosted a lovely open house and displayed her portfolio, as well as a great amount of rentals (drapings, crystals, hanging votives, lanterns and other non-floral centerpiece decor) available to clients. She specializes in uplighting, fabric draping, pipe and drape, and non-floral centerpieces. She also developed “Designed by the Bride” an online forum for inspiration and a unique tool to create your own centerpieces, bouquets, cakes, and more!
I had a wonderful time chatting with her (it’s been too long!) and peeking around at her rentals and offerings.
As soon as you walk in, Julie’s design flare is evident. A cool ice blue paint on the wall is transformed by uplights, and hanging crystals separate the main space from a smaller workstation and inventory display.
I also ran into my friend and amazing florist Matt Aspey of To The 9’s!
Here’s a few photos of the new digs- I hope you’ll consider checking out her services! Even better- we’d love to work with you together to create a dynamic wedding or special event!
Along one wall, bookcases highlight the variety of lanterns Julie uses, along with some ribbon embellished glass and fun feather accents, all which can be customized to fit your color scheme.
Still a work in progress, but the linen room offers clients a chance to see the multitude of color options available for draping.
A delicious spread of food and the draping and beautiful crystal branches were a sneak peek into Julie’s magic she creates for her clients. Definitely got me into the holiday spirit too- the silver and cool hued blues felt like a modern winter wonderland inside her studio! It’s great to have a table inside the studio too for guests to try out and get a feel for the decor so they can visualize their wedding day.
The inventory room is coming along nicely- can’t wait to see all the fun decor items she’s got in store for 2011!
Around a corner, on the back wall is a terrific display of assorted jewels, crystals and hanging candle options, as well as a sampling of ribbon Julie uses in her work.
Congratulations on the new space Julie! I am so happy for you- and can’t wait to bring my clients to your Inspiration Studio and have some fun planning decor for their events!
