The Blue Lagoon is pretty basic. The vodka gives it flavor, and the curacao liquer gives it color. To make this one, simply combine equal parts vodka and blue curacao, splash with lemonade and top with a cherry!
Next up, gotta have a martini to mention, and in this case, it’s aptly titled the Blue martini! Island Blue pucker splash gives this one it’s color. Simply combine vodka,Island Blue Pucker, a splash 7-UP, shake in some ice, and garnish with a lemon twist- voila!
This next drink uses curacao (you really need it for most blue drinks to get that color) but mixes with pineapple juice for a lighter shade of blue! The Deep Blue Sea Martini (below) is a mix of vodka, sweet and sour mix, curacao, and pineapple juice. Voila!
The Blue Moon cocktail is a sweet frothy drink- wedding wise, it would be great as a passed shooter at cocktail hour- giving guests a small taste and pop of color!
The Blue Moon Cocktail (from myrecipes.com):
- 1 cup crushed ice
- 1/4 cup vodka
- 1/4 cup blue curaçao
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons vanilla-flavored syrup (such as Torani)
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon Cointreau or other orange-flavored liqueur
In a blender, combine all ingredients and whirl until smooth. Pour into four martini glasses (4 oz.) and garnish the rim of each glass with a slice of orange. Yum!
Next week.. indigo (purple!).
